Newly Published Manuscript on the Anatomy of Ocean Sunfishes
New Publication that includes NECWA Hot off the press! This manuscript has just been published by Smithsonian Scholars Press. NECWA was able to contribute data, photographs and other information as part of this comparative overview of ocean sunfish anatomy. This material came from the hundreds of ocean sunfish carcasses that NECWA staff and community volunteers conducted on the beaches of Cape Cod and surrounding areas. This information forms the groundwork on the biology, ecology and life history of this very unusual-looking species that feeds off the Cape each spring and summer.
