Plymouth Farmers Market – Winter Market

Join NECWA at our educational table focused on our email campaign to better protect the Horseshoe Crab. We will also have fun hands-on activities for market participants focused on this email campaign, including a block printing activity and a 3-D paper cut-out of a Horseshoe Crab. The Plymouth Farmers Market is a wonderful place to pick-up fresh, local produce, meats, and cheeses at the market and to support farmers focused on agricultural diversity, food economy, and food literacy.
Cooler Middleboro Festival:
April 29, 2023, from 11 am to 2 pm. Middleboro High School gym, 71 E. Grove St., Middleboro, MA.
A free, fun, educational event for all ages to learn about energy efficiency and our local environment. One stop to learn about home energy audits, rebates, tax credits, insulation, heat pumps, solar, and electric vehicles. Come see NECWA's life-sized model of Salt, the Humpback Whale. This festival is a collaborative festival with Sustainable Middleboro and the YESS Environmental Club at Middleboro High. There will be fun ocean-themed activities for kids of all ages. Kids and adults can view NECWA's inflatable model of Salt from the inside and out (no shoes inside please). The festival will also include high school student science projects and energy efficient vendors and activities. Food and drinks can be purchased from food trucks outside in the parking lot. This is a family event and is free to the public.

Join NECWA for this fun and free festival sponsored by the Buzzards Bay Coalition. The festival will be held at their Onset Bay Center and they will be renting kayaks, paddleboard, rowboats, and other equipment free of charge. They will also have beach games, music, and art activities happening in the center and outside! NECWA will have an educational table on our Southcoast Terrapin Project focused on the Northern Diamondback Terrapin, a threatened species of marsh turtle found along the shores of Buzzards Bay.
Wareham Oyster Festival

Join NECWA for the 7th Annual Wareham Oyster Festival. This fun and free festival is sponsored by the town of Wareham. Festivities will take place along main street and will include vendors selling oysters (of course!), other vendors, crafters, music, food, educational venues, and more. Stop by the NECWA tent and pick-up free educational material, view our marine wildlife artifacts, and make a purchase to support the work we do on behalf of coastal marine wildlife

Brewster Conservation Days (BCD)

This is the first year that NECWA will be part of Brewster Conservation Days sponsored by Brewster Conservation Trust. This year's theme will be Native Plants - Healthy Habitats! The festival will include exhibits about native plants, gardening, and pollinators. NECWA will have a tent highlighting some of the misfit marine wildlife that we rescue and research along the shores of Brewster and surrounding areas. Other activities at the festival will include learning about aquifers, ocean resources, coastal erosion, herring migration, and alternative energy. Tasting of Brewster Oysters will also be included.
