Herring Run Festival in Middleboro

We had a great time at the second annual Herring Run Festival in Middleboro this spring. Over 6,500 attended this two day event. Not only were the numbers of participants strong, but the herring were strong.

NECWA created a new activity just for this festival. Krill created a "Herring Heart" activity where kids could color and learn about river herring and their importance to the food web. The kids had lots of fun decorating their heart and we did too.

A big thank you to the NECWA staff and interns who volunteered their time to man the NECWA tent over the course of this festival. Thank you to Krill, Mary, Will, Amanda, Jack and Mary Lou.
